Since time immemorial, magical and unforgettable wedding proposals in fairy tales have made every girl crave for her prince charming. These childhood dreams seldom come true and rarely in a way that could make Cinderella, Snow White and other fairy tale princess, themselves jealous. But it did for Jessica.
Sam Maccarone and Jessica Burzichelli met each other when they were in their 5th grade and were, just ten years old.
These childhood sweethearts grew up together and after graduating from high school they went on to study at two different colleges. Even then, they did not let miles between them keep their love apart and ruin something so special and beautiful.
Perhaps they loved each other more than anything, and they felt each other even when they would close their eyes as if the souls were together as one.
Having moved in together in Hoboken, New Jersey, following their college graduations, Jessica had been dropping a few hints to Sam about wanting to get engaged. Little did she know that Sam, who had always known that they would be together forever, had been planning the perfect proposal for his longtime girlfriend.
He devised a plan with his filmmaker friend, Dom Cucinotta, and his musician cousin, Matty Mac. They told Jess (as Sam liked to call her) that they were looking for a couple to star in Matty’s new music video.
Completely unaware of what was actually in store for her, she happily agreed to that.
These romantic lovebirds filmed most of the video at LOVE Park and the final scenes at an Italian Restaurant in Paulsboro, New Jersey. Especially for the occasion, Matty wrote a special song, appropriately titled “The Proposal.”
While they were filming, family and friends were at the restaurant, preparing to amaze Jess. During the last scene, he got down on his knees and formally popped the question to her.
Directly from the heart, he said, “You’re the sweetest, sexiest, smartest person I know and you’re even pretty funny sometimes. You motivate me to be the best person I can be every day and I want to spend every day with you for the rest of my life.”
Bringing in a surprise element not only stuns the audience, but also creates an awesome setup for everybody to enjoy. The better the surprise, the better is the result.
P.S. For all the guys out there, this is how it’s done. 😉
