As they say, the greatest moments in life are found when we least expect them. Love is surely the epitome of that. It comes to us as a surprise, at times making us fall in love with people we never imagined.

This is a story of a beautiful couple whose love blossomed despite them being complete strangers; it has also crossed the age gap.

Divorcee Kasey Bergh, 53, and 23-year-old, Henry Glendenning’s unusual love story began when, she thought she was sending a text to a work colleague, accidentally sent a text to a complete stranger.

The text read: “Hey it’s Kasey, I was supposed to connect with Maria at The Park, but her plane was delayed, so I’m at The Western, wanted to see if I could connect with anyone else.”

Henry wrote back: “Sorry you’ve got the wrong number. But if I weren’t headed to work, I’d be down to hang”, instead of just politely telling her she had got the wrong number.

Kasey, while on a business trip in Denver, in Colorado, replied with an apology and then they quickly realized that they had a lot in common, and the messages didn’t stop!

They met a week later before falling in love.

Kasey told the same to St. Louis Post-Dispatch: “I had totally embraced I was single and that I never needed a guy. Then I met Henry.”

Talking about their 30-year age gap, Henry said it “really didn’t make any difference”. “We were so connected at that point through deeper stuff. From the very, very beginning it felt like we were on the same wavelength.”

Henry proposed to Kasey exactly two years after they had their first conversation while playing her favorite song, Thank You by Led Zeppelin, in the restaurant they were dining in.

Last summer, they got married in front of the flood wall of the Mississippi River. “We are perfect matches for each other, and we each get to be exactly who we are in our relationship. It’s so freeing. And we have so much fun together. Everything is an adventure,” said Kasey.

Henry said the remarkable courtship was inspired by The Secret – a book that claims positive thinking can create life-changing experiences. He even said that his text to Kasey was a one-in-lifetime moment to see what happened after he was stuck in a dead-end job and an unhappy relationship.

Kasey and Henry’s love story makes me believe that love between strangers takes only a few seconds, can be real and can last a whole life.
