They say real love lasts forever, and if a love story does not reach its preferred destination, it stays forever, even beyond the realms of life and death.
We came across an adorable yet heartbreaking love story of Rafael and Tatiane, whose love story is distanced by destiny and not miles. This is a lovely way of recreating love memories by Rafael.
Tatiane Valques died in a tragic car accident, six years ago. At the time of the crash, Tatiane was even pregnant with her second child who also died with her, leaving Rafael, with a beautiful memory of their love, Raisa – a one-year-old daughter.
Tatiane’s husband; Brazilian blogger, Rafael Del Col, along with Raisa decided to pay tribute to Tatiane by recreating their pre-wedding photos where Raisa would replace her mother.
The original inspiration for the shoot is the pre-wedding pictures of the couple that were shot in 2009. For the shoot, Raisa wore the same jewelry and stiletto heels that her mother wore back in 2009. In fact, Raul the dog, that Rafael had gifted to Tatiane when they had just started dating, were the same in both the shoots.
Rafael’s idea of recreating memories with pre-wedding photos had been inspired by a similar project by Ben Nunery. Ben had even reshot his wedding photos with his daughter to commemorate his wife who died of cancer.
Read below what Rafael had to say:-
“Shortly after I lost my wife, I was seeking help regarding early widowhood and also paternity without the presence of the mother and found almost nothing. Now, thank God, things are adjusting slowly, my daughter is healthy, and is growing, developing normally. But beside my responsibilities with my princess, I need to deal with feelings of grief, and the loss of my partner with whom I lived for ten wonderful years. I confess that I cried a lot when I watched it, and I couldn’t watch it only once. The music in the clip is a tribute to Raisa. She sings this song very often (it’s second only to “Let it go…” from Frozen on her list).”
Here’s a complete video of the tribute but before you start watching it, get a box of tissues first. Believe me; you will need it!

For Rafael and Raisa, it was by recreating love memories through the pre-wedding photos.
Heart-touching yet adorable story, isn’t it?
Their love story tells us that their love would stay forever in spite of the fateful distance that exists between them now.
Rafael Del Col has been distanced by destiny, were you? And if you were, how did you cope up with it? Have you thought about recreating love memories that you may have experienced?
